About The Publisher: Vivian Richmond

Hi, I’m Vivian Richmond, your local publisher for Macaroni KID Frankfort-Georgetown! I’m thrilled to be relaunching this hyper-local resource for families across Franklin, Scott, Woodford, Jessamine, and Owen Counties, bringing weekly news on the best kid-friendly events, activities, and local happenings straight to your inbox.

Born and raised in Central Kentucky, this community is where I’ve built both my career and my roots. I previously served as District Operations Manager at the Woodford County Conservation District, where I led the Environmental Education program, planned community workshops and events, and managed communications across the region. I grew the program’s public engagement by over 120%, and helped organize the Outdoor Learning Symposium: the highest-attended event in the program’s history, in partnership with local schools and the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education (KAEE), where I served on the Board for a short time.

Through two Emerging Leaders programs, with the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce and the Soil & Water Conservation Society, I sharpened my skills in strategic planning, public speaking, and the behind-the-scenes coordination that makes local events come together. I’ve learned that the best community work happens when someone pays close attention to the details and genuinely cares about the people involved.

Before settling in Kentucky, I spent a decade in the UK and Spain managing logistics, budgets and communications for projects large and small, skills that translate surprisingly well to running a weekly newsletter covering five counties! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Art from Centre College.

What draws me to Macaroni KID is simple: I love connecting families with what’s happening around them, and helping local businesses reach the people already looking for them. When I’m not tracking down the best festivals or story times nearby, you can find me enjoying everything our beautiful part of Kentucky has to offer. I can’t wait to share with you!
